Now getting down to the upcoming election.  Of course we would want all of our members and their family members to be registered and exercise the right to vote, so this information may be helpful.  People can register to vote if 17 years and 10 months old.

This year’s election cycle is extremely important as it includes the election of our nation’s highest office, the President and Vice President.  In addition to that position on the ballot, every congressional district nationwide is up for grabs.  Texas prior to redistricting had 32 congressional districts, with the addition of 4 districts now there are 36 total districts in The Lone Star State.  Also on the ballot is the election of one US Senator in Texas.

The emphasis should be on making sure everyone you know votes, therefore this information may be important.

Election dates for 2012 are as follows:

Last date to register to vote is:  October 9, 2012

Early voting period is October 22 through November 2nd.

       Election date : November 6 th 7:00am through 7:00pm
